Independent senator Lidia Thorpe was tackled to the ground after attempting to interrupt anti-trans-rights campaigner Kelly-Jay Keen-Minshull at a rally outside parliament this morning.

Ms Keen-Minshull was speaking to a group of protesters when Senator Thorpe ran across the street holding an Aboriginal flag.

She can be heard shouting “you are not welcome”, before being held by federal police.
