There are growing concerns some infrastructure projects being undertaken by the federal government are not viable.

About $73-billion worth of projects don’t appear on the budget bottom line.

That’s because the government believes they can be sold once they’ve been completed, and the money returned to taxpayers.

Liberal MP John Alexander tells Alan Jones, the Coalition should be doing more to ensure money is better spent.

“All infrastructure should be attached to a land use, so therefore land use should be master planned.

“And value capture should be developed because when you put infrastructure together with land use, you uplift the value of the land.”
