Latrell Mitchell encouraged to ‘pull the plug’ on social media over constant abuse

James Willis has asked why the Rabbitohs’ Latrell Mitchell continues to use social media, after being targeted with racist abuse and death threats in the wake of his suspension.

The South Sydney star is currently suspended for six matches over a tackle on Joseph Manu which caused a major facial fracture.

James pointed out “he’s far from innocent, even if some dinosaurs this week will tell you so”, but said such abuse is appalling and never warranted.

“That abuse is appalling. It is disgusting. But social media is vile. For his own health he needs to consider getting off it.

“Is anyone at Souths or Latrell’s manager advising Latrell that maybe it’s time to get off social media?

“Why doesn’t Latrell pull the plug on his Instagram? Close it down!”
