Labor slammed for ‘horrifying’ decision to not recognise Israel’s capital
Labor has been criticised for dropping its recognition of West Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
Israel has labelled the move a “wretched decision” which risked encouraging extremists to further agitate in the region.
Shadow Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Birmingham told Jim Wilson Labor’s decision was disrespectful.
“I was horrified by Penny Wong’s and Labor’s bungling of this, they couldn’t have been hand-fisted more if they tried.
“The Prime Minister promised before the election they were not going to make any changes.”
