Labor looking at implementing new housing agency if successful in March election

Summer Breakfast

State Labor is looking to implement a new housing agency if it wins the March election, designed to drive more options for tenants, and better manage social housing.

The plan would see existing housing agencies merged into one, to streamline social housing construction, maintenance and tenant management.

Shadow housing and homelessness minister Rose Jackson told John Stanley the issue is being spread across too many portfolios.

“It’s not a silver bullet, this has to be seen alongside all the other house policies.”
