US Studies Centre representative Bruce Wolpe has weighed in on dived Republicans.

They’ve left the speakers chair of the US House empty as the party leader Kevin McCarthy has failed to string ballots.

The deadlock is historic as it has put a halt to congress.

Mr Wolpe told Joe Hildebrand this level of dysfunction has not been seen since 1859.
