John ‘Wacka’ Williams reveals the next step after the Banking Royal Commission

John ‘Wacka’ Williams says educating young people is the next crucial step after explosive revelations from the Banking Royal Commission revealed the tactics of financial institutions.

The former Nationals senator has helped launch award-winning journalist Adele Ferguson’s book Banking Bad which details the road that led to a royal commission into the banks.

Mr Williams was instrumental in bringing the media’s attention to an integral whistleblower.

He tells Ben Fordham there needs to be a greater focus on preparing young people for a life outside of school.

“Education should be about preparing people for when they get out into the big world and we’re failing dismally with education.

“Let’s educate the youngsters so they’re more aware of the fact if someone goes to dud them over, rob them, betray them, cheat them, they know what’s going on.”
