Jim Wilson has taken aim at a provision in government payments allowing tradies and other essential workers to receive $750 per week despite refusing to get vaccinated.

From next week, authorised workers in NSW will need to have at least one dose of a COVID vaccine to get back on the job, but reluctant individuals will remain eligible for COVID disaster payments.

Jim called on the Prime Minister to “come down hard” on the “legalised dole-bludging”.

“That’s called a rort, where I come from. The government needs to stop this, and they need to stop it today.

“We shouldn’t have to pay for them to sit on the couch.”
