Retired Major General Jim Molan has explained the dangers of Anthony Albanese’s comments on turning back people-smuggler boats.

The Labor leader has said he does, in fact, support offshore processing despite an earlier press conference saying the contrary.

Mr Molan told Chris Smith “Mr Albanese does not understand how these policies work”.

“At this stage in where Australia is, we can’t afford a prime minister to come in with training wheels on to figure out these problems on the spot.”
