With the Melbourne Cup less than a month away, James Reyne has announced his annual Cup Eve show at the Corner Hotel, Richmond, will be live streamed for audiences across the world.

Due to COVID restrictions there won’t be a crowd at the venue for the second year in a row, however there is hope that closer to the date that could change.

The show commences on November 1.

Reyne told Deborah Knight the show was helping Support Act raise money for people in the music business who might be struggling.

“Especially in COVID, there are so many people, not just musicians, but lots of road crew and people like that who fall through the cracks who are not eligible for government assistance,” he said.

“Support Act fulfils a really good role to try and fill those gaps.”
