Jacqui Lambie is urging Liberal Leader Peter Dutton to apologise for systemic issues within the Defence Force.

Veterans are being assured work is already underway to clear a backlog of compensation claims.

The Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide has handed down its interim report, after nine months of hearings.

There are 13 recommendations for urgent action, including the need to eliminate a backlog of compensation claims.

Liberal Leader Peter Dutton has taken partial responsibility for problems.

Independent Senator Jacqui Lambie told Jim Wilson, that it’s not enough.

“I’m just wondering when Peter Dutton will come out and apologise under the Liberal Party.”
