Jack-of-all-trades Sinead Burgess hits nostalgic notes in new single

Australian country music artist Sinead Burgess may be happy to give partner Blake O’Connor the title of best guitarist in the household, but she’s a talented multi-instrumentalist in her own right.

She told Mark Levy she plays the guitar, piano and harmonica when on stage.

“I produce as well, so I build drum tracks and atmospheric stuff as well … from a keyboard.”

In fact, her new single New Year’s Day was inspired by a beloved instrument from her past.

“I came back to Australia and … got to reunite obviously with my family, but with my instruments as well.

“My childhood piano, I started tinkering on that on New Year’s Day actually, and all of a sudden this song really just started to pull out.”
