Liberal Senator Jacinta Price has weighed in on the Acknowledgement of Country after Pauline Hanson rejected it.

Pauline Hanson stormed out of the Senate yesterday in protest of the Acknowledgement of Country.

Ms Price told Ben Fordham “I understand Pauline’s frustrations”.

“While I understand the need for acknowledgment is important, we’ve just been absolutely saturated with it.

“It’s getting to the point where it’s actually removing the sacredness of traditional culture and practices. It’s become almost like a throw-away line.

“We don’t want to see all these symbolic gestures, we want to see real action.”

In her speech to parliament, Ms Price railed against “false narratives” of racism, calling the push for an Indigenous Voice to parliament a symbolic gesture that could divide Australia.

“Just treat everybody like we’re bloody well Australian citizens,” she told 2GB Breakfast.
