‘I’ve never seen a Prime Minister less across the detail’: Dutton on The Voice
Federal Opposition Leader Peter Dutton believes Anthony Albanese still has many questions to answer about The Voice.
Labor has introduced legislation to enshrine an Indigenous Voice to Parliament in the constitution.
The bill will be scrutinised over the coming months, with MP’s and Senators expected to vote on the issue by the end of June.
It’ll then pave the way for all Australians to have their say at a referendum later this year.
But Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has told Ray Hadley the government has not provided enough detail about how the bill would work.
“You just cant say to people, well if you feel good about it just vote for it,” Dutton said.
“If it ends up in the high court for years and years , if it slows down the machinery of government, if it adds billions of dollars to the cost of doing business , all of that is just passed onto tax payers.”
