‘It’s unacceptable’: Local resident calls upon government to intervene before ruining Barangaroo views

Clinton Maynard

A historical view at Observatory Hill, looking west over the water towards the Anzac Bridge could be wiped out.

The new development in the area is causing angst for those living in Millers Point.

The tower block at the Northern end of Barangaroo is bound to cut off views and Millers Point resident Bernard Kelly is blowing the whistle on the situation.

Mr Kelly told Jim Wilson he wants the government to rethink its decision.

“You won’t be able to see the water, you’ll see half the Anzac Bridge.

“These views… are critically listed heritage views.

“The government hasn’t chosen to speak to the Millers Point community.”
