An Inner West wedding venue is pulling out all the stops to block a proposed skate park to be built next to it.

Navarra, the owners of Le Montage, claims it has been given a ‘native title’ to protect the park, which has been rubbished by the local council.

The local council has been trying to build the skate park for years.

Mayor of Inner West Council Darcy Byrne told Chris O’Keefe he is in disbelief over the situation.

“The venue operator’s understanding of land rights really needs some work.

“It’s beyond the pale to have the venue appropriating indigenous land rights.”
