One of Australia’s largest donors to medical research has cut ties with the University of Melbourne because it gave honorary doctorates to six white men.

In a statement Snow Medical Research said, “Unfortunately, last week the University of Melbourne awarded their most prestigious award… an honorary doctorate… to six white men. This is unacceptable.”

“What happened to ‘the best person for the job?’” Ben asked.

“Can you believe this rubbish? It’s madness!”

In 2019, three men and three women were awarded honorary doctorates.
