The man who found three-year-old AJ has described the moment he rescued him.

AJ Elfalak was found wading in a creek on the rural Putty property, trying to drink and stay cool, around 500m from home.

SES volunteer Greg Chalmers told Ben Fordham AJ’s smile when he found him is something he’d never forget.

“He looked around, he gave me the biggest smile.

“That little man was freezing like you wouldn’t believe, he was shaking.

“The condition when I found him, it’s incredible that he was actually still alive.”
