Ben Fordham is calling out the “embarrassing” rail chaos plaguing Sydney.

Transport Minister David Elliott has blamed Treasurer Matt Kean for stalled negotiations with the rail union.

The government had agreed to modify the trains after safety concerns were raised by the union.

But strikes will continue this week over how the changes are paid for, with the union boss Alex Claassens saying it shouldn’t come out of workers’ wages.

“First, it was about safety, now it’s all about money,” Ben said.

“The Rail Union is holding Sydney hostage, and every time they get what they want they just demand another ransom.”
