There is some hip-pocket relief up for grabs across Australia’s east coast.

Motorists are being encouraged to fill up as petrol prices hit a 15-month low.

The average unleaded fuel price sat at $1.16 in Sydney and Brisbane on Tuesday.

NRMA’s Peter Khoury tells Deborah Knight since last night, prices have fallen again in capital cities on the east coast.

“The falls couldn’t have come at a better time, particularly since most of 2018 was so expensive.”

Mr Khoury says “we don’t know when it’s going to turn, but it will eventually turn”.

“We’re at the low point. It may fall a cent or two more before it goes back up”
