Chris Smith has called for calm amid evidence Omicron isn’t proving to be the deadly strain the world was warned about.

The South African province where the variant was first detected has recorded a regular drop in new cases.

“Omicron has become a larger and larger fizzer,” Chris said.

“The sad truth for the bedwetters is that case numbers in both NSW and Victoria are broadly flat.

“US Virologist Trevor Bedford says we may be seeing the pandemic shift into an epidemic very soon.”
