‘It’ll be a circus, it’ll be a freak show’: Rowan Dean on Palmer’s political comeback

Clive Palmer is linking up with former One Nation Senator Brian Burston, who’ll now sit in parliament under the newly-minted Australia United Party banner.

Chris Smith has labelled Palmer’s decision to join forces as “a self-resurrection”.

“I reckon he’s trying to pitch himself as Australia’s version of Donald Trump.”

Smithy’s All-Star Rowan Dean agrees, telling Chris “it’ll be a circus, it’ll be a freak show”.

“But the joke is, the Australian people aren’t stupid and they don’t fall for mugs twice.

“For the life of me, I can’t figure out Brian Burston.

“I mean I thought this guy was quite sensible, he’s obviously completely lost his marbles and thought ‘I’ll sign up with one of the biggest buffoons in the history of Australia.'”
