‘It will not work’: Premier’s Supply Chain Commissioner

The Managing Director of Doble Express Transport, Mitch Doble reacted to the Premier’s Supply Chain Commissioner and says “it will not work”.

Dominic Perrottet has claimed to install a Supply Chain Commissioner if Coalition wins the election.

The position will make it easier for groceries to get from farms into supermarkets and ultimately drive down the cost.

Mitch Doble told Chris O’Keefe he “can’t see a task force influencing what [they] need to charge to get the job done, it will not work”.

According to him, they need labour, spare parts, vehicles on the road, infrastructure and warehouses.

“Warehouses available in NSW would be less than 1 per cent,” Mitch Doble said.

“That needs to be fixed.”

“The transport industry is very competitive but it will self-regulate when it comes to pricing if we get those resources in place to get the job done.”
