Paramedics are taking industrial action by refusing to leave their allocated station to fill roster gaps.

They are pushing for an additional 1500 paramedics and a pay rise of more than 2.5 per cent.

Health Services Union NSW Secretary Gerard Hayes told Ben Fordham intensive care paramedic numbers are being depleted.

“The clinical care that needs to be given to support other paramedics is now being watered down.”

Vice President for the Australian Paramedics Association Scott Beaton told Jim Wilson they want the Health Minister and Premier to sit down and hear their concerns.

Yet to hear from either Mr Beaton said ‘It’s extremely frustrating”.

“We are the lowest-paid paramedics in the country.”
