Israel Folau claims he could have been Wallabies captain

Israel Folau is seeking compensation for $14 million in lost earnings and the chance to have captained the Wallabies after being sacked by Rugby Australia.

Folau claims he was wrongfully dismissed by Rugby Australia after a controversial Instagram post suggesting “homosexuals” are going to “hell”.

He was originally seeking $10 million as part of his ongoing legal battle with Rugby Australia and the NSW Waratahs.

Wallabies legend Tim Horan tells Ben Fordham Folau was certainly not next in line for captain.

“Claims of him being captain, there’s probably about 10 or 12 players before him.

“It’s a bit far fetched from poor old Izzy unfortunately.”
