Israel agrees to five-day ceasefire and hostage release with Hamas

Michael McLaren

Israel has agreed to a five-day ceasefire and a hostage release deal with Hamas, which will see an exchange of Palestinian and Israeli citizens.

53 women held hostage by Hamas will be released in exchange for 150 Palestinian women and teenagers in Israeli prisons.

“How can the state of Israel ever do a ‘peace deal’ or ceasefire with an organization, that at its core, is hell-bent on destroying it?”, Michael McLaren said.

LATER:

Former Australian ambassador to Israel Dave Sharma spoke to Michael after news of a ceasefire.
