A bill to scrap Sydney’s lockout laws will be introduced to state parliament.

Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party MLC Robert Borsak is behind the push to get rid of the 1.30am curfew, which he says is crippling the city.

Alan Jones has been campaigning against the lockout laws for years, saying Sydney has lost its status as an international city and become a “laughing stock”.

Mr Borsak tells Alan the rules have only shifted violence to other areas.

“If they were really fair dinkum, why did they exempt The Star?

“Let’s get real about this. Let’s give Sydney an injection of energy again. Let’s get it going.

“All they’ve got to do it support this bill. I’m second reading it today.

“The government’s got two weeks to think about it.”
