Integrity body hits out at the Albanese government following secrecy revelations
The Albanese government has been found to be more secretive than the previous Morrison government, according to research from the Centre for Public Integrity.
Ministers have been using “public interest immunity” claims to withhold information from parliament, with the Centre for Public Integrity chair Anthony Whealy KC calling for change to stop the secrecy occurring.
“I think secrecy is really the exact opposite of what we want in holding the executive government to account,” Mr Whealy KC told Michael McLaren, filling in for Chris O’Keefe.
