Interior design trends may live and die, but Australia’s love for a ‘reno’ seems to last forever.

Inside Out magazine is celebrating its 21st birthday with an homage to the best design moments of the last two decades.

Editor Eliza O’Hare told Deborah Knight the trends themselves are less significant than the social changes around them, like the shift towards environmental friendliness.

“As we’ve before more confident homeowners and renovators, we’ve become more eclectic – we’re happier to try different things.

“All the styles and trends that we’re highlighting exist all at once, and if you can pick little bits of them you can create an incredible home.”
