The first man in Australia to be charged with terrorism offences has been detained in Singapore.

Zaky Mallah was acquitted of plotting a suicide attack against government buildings in 2005 and later travelled to the Syrian frontline in 2012.

He gained infamy when the ABC allowed him to ask a question from the audience of Q&A.

Mallah has told Channel 7 he has been grilled by Singaporean authorities about his history, his dealings with ASIO and his travel in Turkey and Syria.
