Energy Minister Angus Taylor is assuring Australia traditional industries won’t be “wiped out” to achieve net zero.

Cabinet will today decide how the country will drastically cut emissions and protect the economy.

The deal will be put to the Liberal and National party rooms next week.

Mr Taylor told Ben Fordham they won’t be slashing jobs in the regions.

“Those industries can continue to have a great future and they absolutely will.

“You’re seeing in Europe now, as you have more renewables coming to your electricity system you need to have the gas and if you don’t the lights go out and the prices go up.”
