If you know a hardworking volunteer, now is the time to speak up
If you know someone who deserves recognition for their volunteering work, now is the time to speak up.
Nominations for the NSW Volunteer of the Year awards are just around the corner, closing next month.
Many of us know someone worthy of such an award but how many of us take the time to celebrate their work?
Executive Manager of Clubs NSW Anne Fitzgerald tells Ben Fordham there are so many Australians rolling up their sleeves and changing the lives of others.
“When you think about the number of volunteers across this great city, and indeed this state and Australia, there’s nothing else like… the way in which Australians gather together and volunteer for amazing causes.”
Nominations for the awards close on July 13 and Anne is encouraging everyone to take a moment to nominate a worthy Aussie.
“Really it’s not a big process to just nominate somebody and by doing so you’re really shining a light on the often unsung efforts of a lot of people and their volunteer activities.”
