ID thieves steal more than a million dollars
Three men have been arrested and 80 charges laid over a major fraud investigation.
Strike Force detectives say the men were part of a syndicate which fraudulently obtained more than a million dollars.
It’ll be alleged the group did this by porting more than 100 mobile phone numbers and using the identification details of 200 people.
Police enquiries led to search warrants being executed at properties in Kingsford, Rhodes and Waterloo on Tuesday morning.
Officers found high-end designer apparel, electronic equipment, mobile phones, SIM cards, computers, MDMA tablets, credit cards, notes and about $10,000 in cash.
Three men were arrested. A 28-year-old has been refused bail, charged over more than 60 offences.
The other two have been released on bail to appear in court next month.
