Political correctness has run amok across Australia universitites.

Alan Jones says it’s “a mess”, with freedom of speech at risk thanks to left-wing protesters.

New federal Education Minister Dan Tehan is now responsible for cleaning up the problem.

“I think this is the worst portfolio in government,” says Alan.

“This is the toughest job and, to be honest with you, I’m not sure anything can be done.

“I think the horse has bolted.”

The Education Minister says he’s looking into the treatment of high-profile speaker Bettina Arndt at the University of Sydney.

Ms Ardnt had to hire her own security in order to deliver a speech and says she was spat on and heckled.

Dan Tehan tells Alan Jones he’s taking up the issue with various universities.

He’ll meet with eight vice-chancellors on Thursday to discuss what is being done to ensure the freedom of speech for students is being protected.

“This is something that obviously needs to be addressed.”
