‘I don’t apologise’: Alan Jones explains why he teared-up on air
Alan Jones says he’s not sorry after being brought to tears while describing the devastation of the drought.
While delivering an emotional tribute to our farmers on his Sky News program Jones & Credlin, Alan was forced to take a break when he couldn’t hold back his anguish any longer.
He said the Prime Minister had “disappointed millions of Australians” after a heated interview on The Alan Jones Breakfast Show yesterday, where he failed to come up with solutions to the drought.
But Alan says he isn’t sorry for standing up for rural Australia, which he does in memory of his own father, a Queensland farmer who struggled through drought.
“I don’t apologise for that, it was tough to deliver. At the end of the day, I’ve been there, I know what these people are talking about.
“It was when I tried to make the point that my old man would be ashamed of me if I didn’t defend these farmers, and those sorts of things are hard to say.”
