How to vote in the federal election if you have COVID

COVID-positive Australians will have a couple of options to vote in the upcoming federal election.

Postal votes will be the first port of call but those in COVID isolation will be able to access a telephone voting service in the last three days.

Australian Electoral Commission’s Evan Ekin-Smyth told Chris Smith warned “it won’t be smooth”.

“You’ll be waiting longer on the phone than you would in person.

“It is an emergency measure only.”
