How to listen to The Ray Hadley Morning Show without a radio

Tech expert Trevor Long has joined Ray Hadley to explain how you can still listen to The Ray Hadley Morning Show without a radio.

From tomorrow, Ray’s show will no longer be broadcast on Southern Cross Austereo stations.

For listeners concerned about how much data they’ll consume listening to Ray online, Trevor had this to say:

“Listening to Talk radio is far less data intensive than listening to high quality music.

“If we use a “worst case” scenario, of a high quality stream, you might use 60 megabytes of data per hour, around 900 per week.

“Over a month that might work out at around 3.5 Gigabytes per month, more likely it would be half that amount given the quality of the 2GB radio stream.

“So, ensure you have 2-3 Gigabytes of data per month available.

“On a home wifi connection (using the Google smart speaker solution we talked about yesterday) that will be totally fine, most are unlimited.

“On a mobile phone, most plans are now minimum 5GB per month, but keep an eye on your usage in your smartphone settings, and your mobile telco customer app and adjust your plan if needed.”
