Ben Fordham is calling on the NSW Premier to stand up to the unions as Sydneysiders are being told to avoid the train network due to strike action.

Union workers are refusing to staff privately-built trains for the day, as part of ongoing industrial action, leaving just 30 per cent of train services running.

“Sydney’s transport network has been held to ransom,” Ben said.

The Maritime Union will also see wharfies go on strike from Friday while the Transport Workers’ Union has announced parcel deliveries will be affected by industrial action.

“Sydney gets punished because the union bosses didn’t get what they wanted.”

NSW Rail, Tram, and Bus Union Secretary Alex Claassens told Ben Fordham the action is necessary.

“We’re not rolling over.

“We don’t want unsafe trains on our network, why aren’t we having those conversations?”
