How researches looking to halt progression of Parkinson’s disease

Researchers hope their work could create a treatment to halt the progression of Parkinson’s disease.

$1.6 million dollars has been committed to the project by the Shake It Up and Michael J Fox Foundations.

The therapy, which is not yet in human trials, increases energy supply to brain cells allowing them to function for longer.

Neuroscience Research Australia Professor Carolyn Sue told John Stanley rather than being about reversing the condition it’s about stopping it from getting worse.
