English-born Australian author Paul Jennings has revealed the inspiration behind his latest novel ‘The Lorikeet Tree’.

Paul had re-introduced memories in a developing forest along the Great Ocean Road.

The book covers delicate topics about the environment, hope, courage, mental health and love.

The author told Deborah Knight about the forest he discovered over three decades ago, and how it inspired him to start the story.

“As children’s authors, we’re taking the child’s hand at the age that they are at and showing them that the world is a good place, even though there are hard things”.
