‘How much money is this bloke getting from Beijing?’: Jim Wilson rips into Solomon Islands Prime Minister
Jim Wilson has torn into Solomon Islands Prime Minister, Manasseh Sogavare, for accusing Australia of ‘blindsiding’ him over the announcement of the AUKUS security pact.
The Solomons Islands PM said in a press conference this week “I learned of the AUKUS treaty in the media. One would expect that as a member of the Pacific family, Solomon Islands and members of the Pacific should have been consulted to ensure this AUKUS treaty is transparent”.
“Seriously? The AUKUS agreement is between Australia, the UK, and the US, not the Solomon Islands,” Jim said.
“My advice to you Mr Sogavare is to stay in your lane!
“You’ve clearly forgotten the millions of dollars in aid we’ve sent your way.”
