NSW Mental Health Commissioner Catherine Lowry has joined Luke Grant on Drive to explain how floods can affect us mentally and what we can do to reduce the impact.

“When you’ve experienced this more than once, you can really start to get more anxious, because you know what’s about to come,” she said.

Ms Lowry also stressed the importance of community support.

“If you feel that your mate or your neighbour or someone in your family might be struggling, reach out.

“If you can, try to find some time in the day just for some time out,” she said.
