‘How did they get the contract?’: Spanish company behind NSW trams had major issues for years

Ben Fordham has described Sydney’s public transport as a laughing stock.
It comes as the Inner West Light Rail is put out of action for 18 months due to massive cracks in the carriages.
The Spanish company CAF, who runs the trains, won the contract for Parramatta trams in 2018
However, the company’s trams were found to have major cracks in France in 2017.
“It’s farcical,” Ben said “This cannot be the way we do business in the future.”
