CommBank’s James Roberts, the General Manager of Fraud, joined Deborah Knight on 2GB to discuss a new initiative called ‘NameCheck’. Commbank developed NameCheck to give customers an indication whether the name and account details entered look right, which will help boost confidence when transferring money.

“NameCheck will give you a confidence indication on whether or not you should be on high alert when transferring money”, giving added security Mr. Roberts affirms.

Mr. Roberts also reassured Australians of the improvements being made to online banking in this turbulent age.

“We’ve made some quite substantial investments in behavioral security to pick up remote access scams”, he told Deb.

If you do find yourself in the position of being scammed, Mr. Roberts says the best thing you can do is take swift action. “It’s super important to get in touch immediately with the fraud department at the bank you’re with”, Mr. Roberts told listeners.
