How Australia can help: Ukraine ambassador’s plea amid war crime allegations

2GB DRIVE

European officials are on their way to Ukraine to investigate claims of war crimes by Russian forces.

A mass grave has been discovered and hundreds of civilian bodies have been found lying in the streets of Bucha.

In this wide-ranging interview, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Australia, Vasyl Myroschnychenko, has told Luke Grant that Moscow must be held to account, and explained what Australia and other Western countries can do.

“We are there dying for democracy,” Mr Myroschnychenko told 2GB Drive. “We are dying there for freedom. We are dying for the values which are so dear to Australians.

“If (Putin) goes unpunished, it will serve as a role model for other countries.

“We need further sanctions. We also need more weapons.”
