Astronomers are hoping a rare, green comet passing over Sydney will spark an interest in kids to learn more about space.

C/2022 E3 (ZTF), which was first discovered last March, is dazzling stargazers with its unique viridian hue and is set to be visible from Sydney this Saturday.

Josh Edwards, the head of special projects for the American Chamber of Commerce in Australia, told Deborah Knight if the comet has kids excited to learn more, there’s an exciting opportunity on offer.

The recipient of the Al Worden Endeavour Scholarship will be sent to an international space camp program taking place in Huntsville, Alabama!
