The Head of Urban Taskforce Australia says the only solution to Australia’s housing crisis is approval of more home developments.

The taskforce says 6000 new home approvals are needed per month to keep up with demand, but at the moment the number is half that.

Urban Taskforce Australia CEO Tom Forrest told Chris O’Keefe building approvals in Sydney are at the lowest in six months.

“There has been an undersupply of housing for many years. We have a housing supply crisis.”
