A driver has been caught on camera ramming into Queensland police with three children inside his car.

The driver can be seen ramming into a police vehicle and speeding on the wrong side of the road with three kids under 12 on board.

In the early hours of Monday morning, Queensland Police and members of the public noticed a car driving on the wrong side of the road.

A chase began and the driver’s behaviour worsened, deliberately reversing into a petrol station on Townsville Street and eventually ramming into the pursuing police vehicle.

The three children, aged 11, five and two, were taken to hospital for observation but were uninjured.

The male driver, a 36-year-old man from Perramon, was charged with 23 offences at Townsville Magistrates Court on Tuesday and was denied bail.
