A NSW family has had their home destroyed by a tornado.

The tornado at Meadow Flat near Bathurst destroyed houses, tore roofs off and flung debris into the air.

A GoFundMe has been started to help a family whose house was torn to shreds in the storm.

Farmer Scott McKinnon told Ben Fordham he was inside his house when the tornado hit.

“I was hanging onto the kitchen bench, my feet were hanging out the window, nearly got sucked out.”
