‘Holy smoke’: Vapers fear crackdown will push them back to cigarettes

Ben Fordham

The federal government is not collecting tax from vaping, which is a big reason why they are cracking down on vaping in Australia, along with concerns about the unknown health risks.

2GB listener and truck driver, Rob, called in to tell Ben Fordham that he hasn’t smoked since November, as he now uses vapes, but he’s worried he will go back to smoking due to the new vaping crackdown.

“I spend about 20 bucks a week now on vapes and I feel so much better,” said Rob.

“But I can tell you now, if Albanese wants to take these vapes away, I’ll end up going back to smoking…It’s just a nightmare and I’m worried,” he said.
